# Search public Eventbrite events from an AI agent (/docs/eventbrite)

Bowmark is an MCP server your agent can call to search public Eventbrite events. Ask in plain
language ("AI meetups in San Francisco this week") and the agent gets typed results back:
event name, start time, venue, city and the ticket page link.

## Why this page exists

Eventbrite turned off public event search in its own API in February 2020. The API still
manages the events you organize, but it cannot answer "what is on in Austin this weekend".
Most Eventbrite connectors wrap that API, so they have the same gap. Bowmark searches the
public listings directly.

## What your agent can do

* **Search events** by keyword and city, with optional start and end dates.
* **Read one event** in full, plus its venue and organizer.
* **Search across sites at once:** the same call also covers Eventim, merged into one list.

In a test on 2026-11-04, a search for "AI" in San Francisco returned 22 Eventbrite events in
4.1 seconds. The full list of sites is on [Providers](/docs/providers).

## Honest results

Every search returns a `warnings` list. If a site did not answer, the agent is told which one,
so it never mistakes a partial answer for the whole list.

## Connect it

MCP URL: `https://api.bowmark.ai/mcp`. Make a key at
[dashboard/keys](https://bowmark.ai/dashboard/keys); your first $10 of usage is free, no card
needed. Every other client is on [Installation](/docs/installation).

  **Claude Code**
    ```sh
    claude mcp add bowmark --transport http https://api.bowmark.ai/mcp \
      --header "Authorization: Bearer $BOWMARK_API_KEY"
    ```

  **Codex**
    In `~/.codex/config.toml`, with `BOWMARK_API_KEY` exported in your shell:

    ```toml
    [mcp_servers.bowmark]
    url = "https://api.bowmark.ai/mcp"
    bearer_token_env_var = "BOWMARK_API_KEY"
    ```

  **Cursor**
    Settings → MCP → **Add new MCP server**, then paste the JSON from
    [Installation](/docs/installation).

## Example

```js
const { events, warnings } = await bowmark.event_tickets.search({
  query: "AI", location: "San Francisco, CA",
});
return events.map((e) => ({ name: e.name, start: e.start, venue: e.venue, url: e.url }));
```

## FAQ

**Can the Eventbrite API search public events?** Not since February 2020. It only manages
events you organize. Bowmark searches the public listings.

**Does it need an Eventbrite account?** No. Search and event details are public. Saving
events or registering for one uses your own Eventbrite account.

**Does it show ticket prices?** Eventbrite rows link to the ticket page. Read one event in
full for its details.

**What does it cost?** Free $10 of usage to start, then pay as you go. See
[Pricing](/docs/pricing).
